By Julia Cooper Davidson

Having a child with an itchy skin condition can make parents feel powerless to help. You know they have such sensitive and soft skin that even minor irritants can make your baby very grumpy. Baby eczema and natural skin care is something every parent should take time to investigate. Since it could be a recurring problem it would be wise to know how to treat it. It can mean a world of difference to the child.

Itches that cannot be scratched can drive an adult almost insane. Now imagine you are an infant and cannot communicate what is bothering you to the person who is attending to you. As you can imagine it can make a child very irritable and grumpy. You can help solve this problem naturally by using dry oatmeal ground into powder. Try adding 2 cups to lukewarm running bathwater. Allowing your infant to soak for 15 minutes will help ease her discomfort. Make sure to rinse off the residue and pat dry instead of rubbing to decrease the chances of further irritation.

It is very important to stay moisturized. Aloe vera is very good at keeping the natural moisture from evaporating and leaving the child too dry. Natural hydrants are particularly gentle on the baby and do not make the problem get worse by introducing harsh chemicals on top of the current problem. Dry areas tend to itch, so having skin more surprised regularly will be of big benefit.

Protecting your child from further irritation and damage is very important. Do not use harsh cleansers such as bargain bath soap or bubble bath. Make sure any type of bathing product you purchase has mild cleansers in them so you do not irritate your baby's sensitive outer layer. Using a humidifier may also help keep your infant protected by balancing the moisture content in the air.

Lotions that contain nutrients such as vitamin E can be soothing and help keep the baby feeling better. Be certain there are no irritants in the lotions such as fragrance and dyes. You do not want to cause the infant extra pain these can provoke when applied.

Your child's pediatrician could be one of the best sources of information you could possibly use when it comes to your child's health. More and more doctors are realizing that parents are beginning to use natural products to keep their children healthy. Any occurring or worsening conditions should be reported right away.

These tips on baby eczema and natural skin care can help your child feel much better in a short amount of time. Never let the problem progress too far so it can be treated as quickly as possible.
